"Stand up straight!" – Mom was right.

Mom was right when she used to tell us to straighten our back. Surprisingly, this is one of the main reasons why most of us suffer from lower back pain nowadays.

Lower back pain may have many underlying reasons, but if it’s not because of some genetic factors or old injuries, it would probably be mainly caused due to the wrong way of practising our daily routine and it may start to ache more and more to the point that you can’t stand straight or move easily.

Now let’s summarize up some of the wrong habits we usually do every day without knowing that we are harming our back gradually:

  • If your job involves sitting at a desk all day long especially if the chairs are not comfortable. Or maybe your job gets you lifting heavy stuff that might twist your back.
  • Your overdone workout in the gym that may overextend your muscles leading to low back pain.
  • When you’re inactive most of the time and tend to sit for many hours and hardly move.
  • Obesity is one of the top reasons that stress on your spinal negatively.
  • Smoking sometimes comes as one of the main reasons that block the blood pressure to the lower part of your back so you feel in pain.
  • Anxiety and being so stressed out may also affect badly on your back.
  • And some other special cases like Pregnancy, Kidney Stores, and Endometriosis

After knowing the reasons why comes the phase of effective home care to decrease this lower back pain that blocks most of your daily activities:

  1. Take the rest you really need and sleep for enough daily hours to be in good health to continue your normal activities without pain.
  2. Try some kind of stretching sports like Yoga and Aerobics that will reduce symptoms of low back pain, but make sure your instructor is experienced enough.
  3. Or maybe you just need some Massage that will relieve the pain and comfort you.
  4. Some doctors have recommended trying cold and hot therapy.
  5. Just stop smoking and everything will go well because you’re hurting each and every single cell in your body with a small cigarette in your hands and you can just throw it away.
  6. Try to be healthy and fit as possible as you can and give your body most of the elements needed in food without being so fat or so thin.
  7. Relax! You’re not going to change the world or solve the Global Warming issue if you kept thinking and stressing yourself all day long. Chill and try to get rid of the negativity around you.
  8. Stand straight. Sit correctly with straightened legs. Lift heavy things bending your knees, not your back.

Concluding, we advise you to always monitor your body and if the pain starts to be severe, does not seem to be getting better, or occurs alongside other concerning symptoms, such as tingling or numbness down the legs, you may need to see a doctor that will help you identify potential causes of lower back pain and recommend appropriate treatment.
